Rat Race
Capsule by Lisa Alspector
From the Chicago Reader

To collect $2 million in prize money from a tycoon and self-styled eccentric, one of six patrons chosen at random at his Las Vegas casino must get to a New Mexico train station before any of the others. In their desperation, the characters in this inspired, elaborately plotted, and unusually satisfying variable-speed chase comedy use several idiosyncratic modes of transportation, including a monster truck, a charter bus, and a car reputed to have been Hitler's. Jerry Zucker directed a screenplay by Andy Breckman; with John Cleese, Whoopi Goldberg, Jon Lovitz, Cuba Gooding Jr., Seth Green, Breckin Meyer, and Rowan Atkinson. 105 min.
