Easter Parade
Capsule by Dave Kehr
From the Chicago Reader

A modest, slightly lumpy, but effective MGM musical (1948) by the studio's least obtrusive talent, Charles Walters. Fred Astaire is a dancer whose partner (Ann Miller) is getting too big for her tap shoes; he grooms Judy Garland as a replacement. The Irving Berlin score is bright, and Walters is one director who knows when to leave Astaire to his own devices. 107 min.
