Anne of the Thousand Days
Capsule by Dave Kehr
From the Chicago Reader

Shopping for a follow-up to Beckett, producer Hal Wallis hit upon this forgotten Maxwell Anderson play about the battle of wills between Henry VIII (Richard Burton) and Anne Boleyn (Genevieve Bujold). It's about what you'd expect--slow, dry, fleetingly intelligent. Burton uses his magnificent voice but not much else, though Bujold has some surprisingly sharp, cunning moments. Charles Jarrott directed; with Irene Papas, Anthony Quayle, John Colicos, and Michael Hordern (1970).
